The geek in me has to say my very favourite movies ever (though I truly dearly love many) are the LOTR ones. They inspire me on so many different levels. Tolkien inspires me with his text, e.g., "...But that's not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." There's so much wisdom in Tolkien, and his deep love and understanding of words inspires me to pay attention.

Hobbits inspire me with their littleness, their seeming insignificance, while proving the most brave ("Even the smallest person can change the course of the world."). Peter Jackson inspires me with his landscape, his attention to detail, his use of light and dark (literally and characteristically and scenically), everything he and his teams poured into the films to make them as close to masterpieces as Tolkien's work. Even the special features have so much effort in them that they make wonderful documentaries.

And Howard Shore's music for the films inspires me to write, to sing, to soar, to really feel, and to relax and just listen.

Janice,

I don't know the movie Transamerica at all. I'm going to have to check it out. I do like a lot of classics though. John and I like to watch a lot of the old movies together. And Happy New Year back to you! I am looking forward to seeing your new site up and running!

J.D. I hope you get a chance to watch it, I'm sure you will love it.

Tabitha,

Welcome, and thanks for the Lemonaid Award! I'll come and check it out and find out what it is! I do believe it may be my very first award ever!
