Please welcome our dear friend and our new contributing writer to Life’s Little Inspirations, Lance . We are very lucky that Lance has agreed to come from time to time and share his thoughts and inspirations with us here at LLI. Lance has been a blessing in my life for a very long time now and I know he will be a blessing to you as well. Thanks Lance!
“Like water, be gentle and strong. Be gentle enough to follow the natural paths of the earth, and strong enough to rise up and reshape the world.” ~ Brenda Peterson
Gallon jugs loaded in the car, we head out for a short drive. Five miles from home, down a country road and alongside a forested meadow…we come to a spring. Pure water flowing freely from the earth. Nothing fancy. A large inverted tub with a spout. A small dirt-covered area big enough for about two cars.
The water flows. Sometimes more, sometimes less…always flowing, though. And trickles down into a stream, meandering out into that forested meadow.
Over the last several years, this spot out off the beaten path, has become a regular stop for us. A source of fresh drinking water.
As I think about that today, I’m drawn into the flow of this water. It always flows, always moves. Sometimes it’s gushing out, other times not much more than a trickle. And then moving on, that which lands upon the earth.
Is not life like that ever-flowing spring?
In our daily lives, we are ever-flowing on this journey we are creating.
Envision with me, water bubbling up from the earth. Now, picture this: See that water as YOUR life…as your soul.
Your soul is you, at a deeper level.
When we open up our pores, to let that spirit within us out, to bubble up…that is the spring water of our life. It is us, at our purest, at our most raw, at our most real state.
Like drinking from earth’s spring water, letting our soul become us is like washing ourselves in our own real-ness…refreshing and renewing in that real ‘us’ that is there within.
This journey we are on…for each of us…is our soul, whatever part we are letting out, flowing out into the world. Like that spring water bubbling up from the earth, our soul bubbling out of our being leads us in many directions, as we move through the stream of our life.
Earth shares her springs with us, freely. And we are blessed with her pure water.
Let that spirit within you…your soul…bubble out. It’s you, at your most pure and real state, and it’s what adds so much beauty and life to your world. Just like that spring water, giving life to that which it touches, so you give life to yourself and all that you touch when your deep and true soul is let out, shared, and lived.
Be you!
Be the real and amazing you that is there, within you!

Lance,
The gratitude is all mine! I’m very excited to have you here and with such a great message for all of us to remember to be the everlasting water that flows out over the world. When I think about how much each of us is made up of water and how important water is to our basic survival it really becomes a profound thought.
More and more I am becoming aware of the truly powerful effect water has on our lives and we can have that same powerful effect on others. In fact, the truth is we DO have an effect on others no matter what. We can’t help that. All we can do, is choose what KIND of effect we want to have. Thanks Lance for that great reminder.

This is so beautiful, Lance! Thank you for sharing this with us today! so heart-warming and inspiring! I have been thinking lately of the divine flow in us being the very mercy we long to receive.. it flows in and through us and then we experience the fullness. Wow! This is serendipity why I’m here just reaffirming for me a few things.
soft blessings to you, Jenn

Grateful for the reminder. Sometimes trickles, sometimes gushing. Both states equally important.

@Wendi – Reading your words, I’m drawn to this idea of how much our bodies are water…and then, how that shifts my own thinking of what I’ve written. More than just this journey we are on, these waters that are us, physically us, are dependent upon how we treat our body. Water is such a vital part of life…beautiful thoughts Wendi…
@Jenn – Jenn, it’s great to see you here today! And this is so beautiful, this idea of a divine flow within us. Fullness of life, going back to something so basic, yet so much a part of us…mmm…I am letting that thought soak into my soul this evening…
@Lauren – Hi Lauren. Yes, whether it’s a trickle or a gush…it’s all so good, and so right. There is a time for all things….
@Deb – Hi Deb!!
