I get serious enjoyment out of doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing. I don't think it's really any better than following the crowd, since it's still a reaction to others. Still, this instinct has served me well, and I think I'm starting to grow into it in a more sustainable, non-reactionary way. I think you made a great point that the natural need to fit in can be used to accomplish great things and bring out the best in people. That's a wonderful way to look at it. Nothing wrong with it As long as we are staying true to our own calling and purpose and we don’t let our need for approval lead us astray from what we should be doing.
